EDUARDO RECIFE (1980) BRAZIL
Eduardo Recife invites us to embark on a soul-stirring journey, a quest for love, happiness, and truth that traverses the depths of the human spirit. With each artwork, Recife challenges us to confront the truths that lay hidden within us, to explore the forgotten corners of our psyche, and to uncover the beauty amidst the darkness.
This introspective odyssey is a journey of self-discovery, where we encounter fragments of ourselves, dream within our dreams, and wander lost in the labyrinths of our own mind. The artist embraces us with symbols of tears and pain, but also drenches our world in splashes of joy, faith, and love, leaving a beacon of hope in its wake.
His art is a call to awaken the spirit, to transcend the ego, and to find enlightenment in the midst of chaos and alien- ation. The search for meaning and truth is woven throughout his works, expressed through a tapestry of symbols that speak to an invisible reality. His pieces are imbued with dualities, as vintage imagery is paired with melan- cholic, introspective compositions, and antique symbols of refinement are transformed to serve bold, contemporary messages.
The award-winning artist has received recognition for his exceptional work, including the Cannes Lion Gold (2011), American Illustration (2009)/Latin American Illustration (2019), and Young Illustrations Award (2014). He was also chosen by FIFA to create special artwork for the 2014 World Cup, and his work has been included in the collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in São Paulo. In addition, he designed an album cover for the heavy metal band Sepultura and his impressive client list includes The New York Times, HBO, YouTube, The Guardian, Warner Bros among several others. Eduardo has exhibited his work globally and is represented in galleries in Brazil, Miami, and New York.
