Sepultura
Sepultura
This was one of the last Sepultura albums before the band decided to part ways. Sepulquarta was a project conceived during the pandemic, a time when bands could no longer perform concerts and often couldn't even rehearse together. Faced with this challenge, Sepultura initiated an online project where they collaborated with bands worldwide, with each member recording in their respective studios.
The album's concept emerged from a discussion on how adversity could yield positive outcomes. Thus, the album's theme took shape: the symbolism of a dead bird providing sustenance for new life (represented by the flowers). In the backdrop, the album reflects significant events in Brazil during those years, such as the dam collapse in Brumadinho, transforming river waters into red mud, the Amazon fires, and rampant deforestation. Despite these challenges, the album conveys a message of resilience and hope for a better future, emphasizing that life must persist.
