Dream Within A Dream
Dream Within A Dream (2013)
In Vedanta, it is believed that the world is the dream of the Divine. God, in His infinite nature, dreams this reality and willingly limits Himself as individual consciousness. This act of limitation is essential, for the infinite cannot perceive the finite without such self-imposed constraints.
In our dreams at night, the same process happens. When we dream, we limit our own individual consciousness in order to experience the dream world.
Just like in the morning we realize we were never the dream character but merely an illusion, a similar awakening happens in a broader scope of existence. As we open our eyes to the larger dream, we recognize that we are not the character we embody in this worldly play. Just as the dreamer transcends the dream, we, too, can awaken to the realization that our identity extends beyond the roles we play in the theater of life.
