Snake Charmer (2021)

The snake carries rich symbolism in diverse cultures, with many negative associations rooted in Western Christian traditions, linking the serpent to the devil in the garden.

In Eastern cultures, particularly within religious contexts, the snake is a symbol of transformation (shedding its skin) and associated with "consciousness." When identified with our body/ego, the serpent remains dormant; however, upon realizing our beyond-physical nature, it awakens. These are metaphorical expressions helping us grasp deeper truths.

So, essentially, the snake can be negative in the realm of the Ego but turns positive when not identified with it, recognizing its true nature.

In this piece, the snake charmer represents one on the path to transformation—letting go of illusions and surrendering to divine control.
