The Self rises bravely to tame the force of the Ego. Like a tiger, it roars and resists, demanding control. Yet, what is this taming but the realization that the Ego is an illusion? It is a metanoia (a change of mind), where we shift from identifying with our thoughts, emotions, and memories as our essence to recognizing ourselves as the eternal, unshaken witness: ever peaceful, ever free. A kingdom must fall to give rise to another one to reign.
