Love (2013)

Love is unity and union. Pure romantic love, at its core, is the unity between two souls, each recognizing the other as itself. In this commitment, both partners surrender their lives to one another, symbolized by gestures like him offering a flower (life) and her presenting a live bird. It's not possessive love, but a shared life as one. This isn't about mere words or deeds; it's about identity as one. Unfortunately, contemporary culture has trivialized the word "love." How can we equate "I love pizza" with "I love my wife"?

Similar to an individual naturally seeking personal happiness, a couple naturally seeks each other's happiness, as they are inherently one. This is the ideal of love. While it may not always unfold seamlessly in reality (it takes two to become one), we shouldn't dismiss the ideal. Without it, the concept of love risks being as fleeting as the "love of pizza," a momentary pleasure discarded for the next desire.
