While it is incredibly important to search for knowledge inside books, all the knowledge in the world won't necessarily make you a wise person. Wisdom implies a deep understanding and practical application of that knowledge.
Going one step further, what use is there in knowing and even practicing without an understanding of ourselves? A person can go to the moon, yet he often appears incapable of delving deep within himself. He becomes a prisoner of his own mind, entangled by his desires, unconscious traumas, and repressions.
