Things Will Get Better (2013)

This piece explores the themes of hope and the nature of suffering. The bear serves as a symbol of our bestial or carnal nature, embodying all its desires, frustrations, sadness, and needs. In contrast, the boy represents our true self—the consciousness that gives life and perceives everything; the silent witness.

This witness is unchangeable, eternal, and complete, existing in a state of peace. Much like the screen on which a movie is projected, untouched by the events playing out on it. The boy, in this metaphor, collects our tears, always present, ready to provide all that we need if only we recognize that he is our true self.

The underlying message is that we are never alone, never hopeless, and never forgotten. Often, we become too engrossed in the 'movie' of life to recognize the unchanging 'screen' that is our true self.
