"Vanitas Maximus" is a depiction of the futility of worldly pleasures. It’s the crowning of our egocentric self that seeks only its temporary fulfillment; It’s that infinite chain of desires that again and again leaves us disappointed. It’s the horror of a life lived without meaning, purpose and truth. It’s a state of death, even for those alive.

Here I want to point out that even though I’m writing these higher spiritual things, I’m in no way trying to portray that I live up to these ideals and standards. I’m very flawed regarding most of the subjects I write about. I’m on the path, just not at the end yet. These are reflections about things that I truly believe and they serve the purpose of reminding myself and others about the true meaning of life, which usually can be forgotten in the course of our complex and chaotic lives.
